Oh, Hello.
Funny seeing you here.
My name is Margie Chidley and
I am a writer and creative director
based out of New York.
It's nice to meet you! Enjoy the site.
Hmm. What else can I tell you? I'm grew up in Florida, just north of the Everglades. I collect beetles from around the world. And up until a couple years ago, I was in a barbershop show chorus that competed in Reno every year.
For well over a decade, I've worked in agencies big and small. I’ve helped win, craft, and champion effective, boundary-pushing work for a whole gamut of brands. I enjoy new technology as much as I love great film and I revel in being the glue between agency, media, vendor and client partnerships. I will always be an advocate for mentoring because I truly believe that whether it’s cars or cats, tech or hospitals—if there’s an idea, there’s a way.
If you believe the same, give me a call.
I’d love to help you put something good into the world.
RYOT Studio is Verizon Media’s world-wide, in-house creative studio. As Creative Director, I led the creative teams, working with brands and publisher partners to create award-winning branded content that’s purposeful, draws audiences and connects to people’s real-world experiences. Clients include TIAA, THE LEBRON JAMES FAMILY FOUNDATION, KOHLER and proactive VERIZON initiatives.
I spent a year contracting in order to take on a greater diversity of projects and companies, including brand-side, startup and larger in-house groups. These roles spanned writing, brand planning, pitch presentation and leading teams in creative production. Clients include EOS, TIC TAC, ACCENTURE, STITCHER RADIO, COVERFX, GAP, and PLANNED PARENTHOOD.
During my time at Anomaly, I ran the creative side of the account for several Diageo brands, including the U.S. and Global businesses for CAPTAIN MORGAN (TV, OOH, Digital and Social platforms). Later, I led Anomaly's CAMPBELL'S accounts, including PREGO and PACE SALSA. In this role, I oversaw multiple creative teams and client relationships. I especially loved helping bring account, strategy and creative teams together for new business pitches.
As a senior writer, I helped win and build new accounts for this small, yet ambitious agency. My main assignment was rebranding DIGNITY HEALTH to help them champion the role of human connection in healthcare. With our work, Dignity Health jumped to the 5th most recognized hospital organization in the country, and I took over as CD on the account, leading the team to make creative, entertaining, and effective work through our “Hello Humankindness” campaign. Other clients included VIRGIN, APPLE, TAYLORMADE, MUFG BANK).
I moved to San Francisco from NY after being recruited to Goodby's recently won CHEVROLET account, helping them rethink the brand for modern families and a younger audience. We created "The Ride of Your Life" digital experience for their centennial, and I also wrote for XFINITY, CHEETOS, SPRINT, GOOGLE, CORONA LIGHT and ALIVE! Multivitamins. My favorite work from this time though, was an ad we did for Alive Multivitamins, in which we partnered with Psyop to create a woman's body as a giant set built by children.
As a writer, I worked on the VERIZON and WALMART accounts at R/GA. We were the lead team helping Walmart create an online hub for families. This was a comprehensive platform that tied products in the store to ideas and life hacks that helped families create more quality time together.
During the years I wrote for JWT, my partner and I worked on almost every brand in the agency. HUGGIES, SCHICK, The AD COUNCIL, KLEENEX, TIDY CAT, ROLEX and WELCH’S Grape Juice, just to name a few. For Welch's, we actually created the first ever "tastable ad" which got on the Today Show. I also wrote a jingle for a women's bikini razor that to this day, I still can't believe we sold.
This was my partner and I's first gig out of school, pitching for MINI and MEGABLOCKS while writing for the American Breast Cancer Foundation and Animal Magazine, for which we scored the cover.
BACARDI, TOYOTA, 7-UP, and GUINNESS. Actually, scratch that last one, we just drank a lot of Guinness.
Adbiz is a fun little local agency in Florida, where I went to school. It was a long time ago, but the thing I remember most was working with a children's singer-songwriter named Anna Moo. Moo wrote with Bo Diddley to create such classics as the "Peanut Butter Blues," included here for your listening enjoyment.
